About
Professional foundation. Practical curiosity.
I’m Christopher McCabe, a Chartered Accountant based in County Wexford. My professional background covers accounting, audit, tax and financial reporting — work that depends on accuracy, evidence and clear communication.
Alongside that work, I’m interested in technology, digital products and better ways of explaining financial topics. I enjoy turning complicated processes into practical tools, straightforward guides and systems people can actually use.
Professional snapshot
I’ve spent more than nine years working in accountancy and continue to develop my technical knowledge while taking on responsibility in the wider Wexford business community.
ACA-qualified, with professional experience across accounting, audit, tax and financial reporting.
More than nine years supporting businesses and organisations with financial, compliance and reporting work.
Serving as Treasurer, contributing financial oversight and governance to the county’s business network.
Further tax studies with the Irish Tax Institute, alongside ongoing interest in technology and digital products.
Practical guides for Ireland
I’m launching practical video guides for Irish people on YouTube — clear, step-by-step walkthroughs you can follow yourself.
YouTube channel@Christopher_McCabe ↗A straightforward walkthrough of registration, sign-in and the key areas you should know.
Where to find the claim in myAccount, what information you need and the steps to complete it.
How health-expense relief works, what records to keep and how to submit a claim through Revenue.
How to check previous years for missed credits, reliefs, refunds or underpayments.
What the document means, where the important figures are and what to do if something looks wrong.
How to keep qualifying receipts organised and available when you need them for a tax claim.
Each guide will show when it was last reviewed and link to the relevant official Revenue guidance, because screens and tax rules can change.
Tools & projects
Projects sit underneath my personal brand rather than defining it. The focus is simple: solve a real problem, explain it clearly and build it responsibly.
TaxCheck is my independent PAYE tool for checking supported Irish tax credits and reliefs, reviewing previous years and getting a clearer action plan.
TaxCheck provides estimates and guidance. It does not file returns, access your Revenue account or replace official Revenue guidance or professional advice.
Business
Alongside my personal projects, I founded MacCaba Ltd. Its focus is fractional CFO and strategic finance support for Irish SMEs — helping business owners get clearer information from their numbers and make better-informed decisions.
