Trust & accuracy

A tax estimate should tell you how certain it is.

TaxCheck is designed to give useful PAYE estimates without pretending that every Irish tax situation can be reduced to one calculator. Straightforward supported cases receive a high-confidence label. Circumstances outside the PAYE engine are surfaced before and after calculation.

Why your Revenue result can differ

TaxCheck is not a copy of Revenue’s assessment system. A result may differ where the information entered is incomplete, where pay-period rules matter, where relief is limited by actual Income Tax liability, or where unsupported income or specialist rules apply. TaxCheck therefore shows its scope and asks you to compare a retrospective estimate with your Revenue Statement of Liability.

Calculation reference

Completed checks receive a local calculation reference derived from the answers and ruleset version. It is useful when comparing two runs or discussing a calculation. It is not a Revenue reference number and does not identify you to TaxCheck.

Ruleset: 2026.08.26-r1. Historical rule packs are versioned separately and are not overwritten when a new tax year is added.
